Our teaching staff are carefully selected based upon their professional background, teaching experience, and technical skills. Because In Motion offers classes for all levels of dancers, teachers must also have the capacity to work with a variety of age groups and technical levels. All dance students are of equal importance, and our staff strives to provide a healthy and supportive environment for every dancer. In Motion's teachers are all fully certified and each have had more than 20 years dance experience.


Lizz Pimentel, Director Email Lizz

Lizz has been dancing for over thirty years and performing professionally since the age of thirteen when she joined Greg Thompsons Follies as their youngest dancer ever. Over the years Lizz has studied ballet, tap, jazz, and modern under various artists in England, New York, Miami, and Bermuda.

Lizz graduated with a BA in Dance (cum laude) from Florida International University/New World School of the Arts in Miami. Whilst in Miami, Lizz danced professionally with a modern-based dance company and performed in various dance and theatre productions. Lizz also had the opportunity to work with various renowned jazz and contemporary choreographers such as Demetrius Klein (Klein Dance Co.), David Parsons (Parsons Dance Co.), and Freddrick Bratcher, and in addition to attending the Alvin Ailey School as a summer scholarship student.

Lizz is the Founder and Director of both the In Motion School of Dance and the "Concepts In Motion" Dance Ensemble, which she choreographs and performs for. 


Jennifer Soares

Jennifer has been dancing for as long as she can recall; she knows this because her joints remind her every morning.  Yet, this cannot keep her away from the studio and her students.  Some of the highlights of her dance career include performing with Halifax Dances The Young Company while attending Dalhousie University and attending the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive program on scholarship while a member of The National Dance Theatre of Bermuda.  She is honoured to have worked with such artists as Denise Jefferson, David Allen, Pat Richards, and Slam.

Jennifer feels privileged to share what she has learned with both the youngest members of In Motion to the most advanced.  However, her proudest achievements are the budding performers who inspire her daily, daughters, Samantha and Logan.

Jennifer is a Professional Level Company Member and Choreographer for Concepts In Motion.


Brandi Keating

Brandi has been dancing since the age of 2, and has danced both recreational and competitively. Brandi has performed in many shows and has had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned teachers and choreographers from all over the world.

Brandi has had the great pleasure of becoming the Assistant Director for the American Dance Training Camp, both in California, Vermont and North Carolina, as well as teaching out in Whistler BC. Brandi has made a successful career within her dancing. Allowing her to travel and experience all aspects of the dancing world.

Brandi is greatly excited to be back in Bermuda teaching at InMotion.

 

Candice Musselman

Candice Musselman is originally from Frederick Maryland and began dancing at the age of three.  She danced at Mid-Maryland Performing Arts Center, where she trained in everything from ballet to hip-hop.Candice graduated in May 2005 from Towson University with B.F.A. in Dance Performance, and was awarded the Jim Synder Award for Excellence in Dance.

There she was a member of the Towson University Dance Company and had the pleasure of working with Geoffrey Holder and Jawole W.J. Zollar.  She continued her training on scholarship at Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago and River North Chicago. 

Candice just completed two season's with the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble in Denver, Colorado where she has had the privilege of working and studying with Christopher Huggins, Roger Jeffery, Milton Myers, and Nejla Yatkin.  She has been teaching and choreographing for eight years at various studios throughout Maryland and Colorado, and has had the honor of being chosen to set several works on various public school dance companies in Maryland as well as in New York.



Kristen Tucker Paladino

Kristen Tucker Paladino, born and raised in Maryland, began her dance instruction at various schools in Delaware and Pennsylvania.  She has been a principal company member with Delaware Dance Company, Wilmington Ballet Company, and Brandywine Ballet Company. During her training, she has had the opportunity to perform at Walt Disney World’s Pleasure Island, and has received several awarded scholarships from the Maryland Council for Dance. Additionally, Kristen trained at the Pennsylvania Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Houston Ballet during her summers.

In 2004, Kristen graduated Magna Cum Laude from Towson University with her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance.  As a member of the Towson University Dance Company, she had the opportunity to perform many principal roles, most notably the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, and the role of Giselle.  She continued her education at Florida State University, where she received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance and Choreography in 2007.  During her time at FSU, she performed in numerous concerts and community outreach performances as a member of Dance Repertory Theatre.

Since being married in April of 2008, Kristen has been residing in West Chester, PA. After completing her Balletone instructor certification, she began teaching Balletone group fitness classes at local gyms. She is currently a member of a newly formed contemporary ballet company called 180 Dance Company, which performs at venues in the Philadelphia and surrounding area. Kristen is so thankful for the amazing opportunity to become the new ballet coordinator at In Motion!



Laurie Marshall

A native of Washington State she received her training at the Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet under the supervision of Debra Pearse Rogo, an Associate of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing of the Ceccheti Society.  Her education included classical ballet, creative movement, character, pantomime, jazz, and tap.  She began teaching there in 1987.

During her training she won numerous full scholarships, including but not limited to, Joffrey, Boston Ballet, American Festival Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Utah Regional Ballet, Interlochen School of Perfoming Arts, North Carolina School of the Arts, Summer Dance Lab, RDAs Choreographers Conference, and Houston Ballet.

In 1992 Ms. Marshall began her professional dance career.  Laurie has had the opportunity to perform with the Joffrey Ballet, Atlanta Ballet Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet, Mid Columbia Regional Ballet and Boston Ballet.  The works ranged from classical ballet to neo-classical, modern, and contemporary.


She retired from dancing professionally in ballet in 1994 and continued her career in competition Smooth and Latin ballroom dancing.  During that time she continued to teach in GA.

In 1999 Ms. Marshall opened her own school, A Time to Dance in Covington, GA.  Two years later her dancers had reached pre- professional levels.  In 2001 Mrs. Marshall co-founded Covington Regional Ballet.  She was both the Artistic Director for the company and the Ballet Program Director for the school.  Maintaining both positions for 2 years she set the companies first ever full length production of Nutcracker, Peter and the Wolf, Mother Goose Fairy Tales and select other neo-classical to classical works.  In October of 2003 she left GA with her family to move to Bermuda.

Mrs. Marshalls guest teaching includes Atlanta Ballet, Gwinnett Ballet Theater, Jackson School of Performing Arts, In Motion School of Dance, Northeastern Atlanta Dance Ensemble, and Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet.
